This has become one of my most popular canvas prints yet! On a balmy spring morning in 2021, I headed out with my good friend and fellow photog, Randy Sander of Broken Bow. He had caught my attention with one of his photos from Whiskey Falls and I asked him to show me how to get to this amazing location. He graciously led our excursion into the Ouachita National Forest and up a rain-soaked trail to find the falls running big. It’s one of those waterfalls that greatly depends on recent rainfall, and if you catch it just right, the water is flowing nicely but not so powerfully that it creates a muddy, and cloudy pool at the bottom. Well, we hit it perfectly and found a tranquil blue pool beneath this most magnificent waterfall. I’ve never seen such geometric genius in a waterfall. God sculpted this one from ledges of sand rock that create almost a “sitting bench” at the bottom. You could sit on that bottom ledge with your feet in the water and lean back into the falls and let the water run down your back. (And on another day I may have done just that.) We were both on a time crunch, so I set up and got this panorama just before we had to leave. The sun was partially obscured by clouds, so the lighting also couldn’t have been more perfect for this setting.

This canvas reproduces richly and with high detail, and will bring a splash of inviting color to your space. With tones of green, turquoise and orange in the rocks, it has a calming feel, and offered in roughly the native aspect ratio in which I shot it, the resolution is rich and sharp.
